My name is Ivan Nikolov. Two and half years ago a friend of mine met me with pastor Blagovest Nikolov. Before that me and my friend had spoken for God but I never really took our conversation seriously before I met pastor Nikolov. We spoke a lot and he invited me to visit the church in Sofia, 49 Solunska Str. So one day I actually went. I was pleasantly surprised by his preach and the people in the church. So I began visiting the hruch every week and understood that this was my place. Pastor Nikolov was organizing and leading one of the groups for Bible study and I was invited along with my friend. I met real believers there, who had accepted Christ for their Savior. My meeting with these people kept opening my eyes for God and I accepted Jesus as my Savior, because He gave His most precious thing for us – His blood. He bought out sins for us. In pastor Nikolov’s group we study the Bible and due to the discussion we leard the meaning ‘behind’ the words in the Scripture. We won’t ever really understand all the shades of God’s words if we only read without discussing and talk about the deeper nature of the Bible. The Spirit, the Son and the Lord can only be known with careful studying and guidance by the Spirit. This is exactly what we do in our group. We started with Genesis and the Pentateuch lessons of the Bible course “Wonderful Word of God”. In Genesis I understood that everything happening in our life is because of our disobedience. Adam didn’t listen to God and ate from the forbidden fruit, then his children continue the sin line – brother kills brother, Cain puts the start of the polygamy. The sin is all over the world, we read in Genesis 6:1-7, evil takes over, dishonesty increases every day, every thought was bad. God’s disappointment is big and He decides to punish humanity causing the flood. God chooses to save Noah and his family in the arch made by their hands. Even after the flood the sin is not erased from the earth’s face – we see it in Noah’s drink. Then Abraham was chosen by God and testament was made. Abraham is afraid he will day childless, but our Lord’s love is great and He gave Abraham a son. God tests Abraham faith by making him sacrifice his own son. Even though Abraham was crushed, he obeyed without question. Proving he afraid the Lord, God sends an angel and saves Isaac’s life. In the end of Genesis, Joseph is freed and appointed as prime-minister of Egypt. He understands he has been called from God for work and leadership. Thanks to God’s grace Joseph shows mercy to his brothers, those who sold him in slavery. He helps his family when there is no food. All stories in Genesis, the principles embodied in them and the conclusions are important but would remain hidden for me. I learned in the Bible study group thanks to the lessons and my friends with whom I discuss the Book. I thank to our living God, who takes care of us, feeds us with His Words and helps us change our lives as He wants to. His love is endless and we cannot refuse it! Thank your organization and the wonderful courses we get through it. God bless you.
